This gauge will allow you to check your machine’s water pressure, as well as adjust your pump and expansion valve. (See note below regarding the notch in older portafilters.)

The included mesh-screen must be installed to prevent any coffee residues to enter and clog the gauge passage.
In fact, we suggest to do a backflush (where applicable) and/or remove and clean all grouphead components before proceeding with the testing.
Fits: Most standard commercial-grade portafilters with 3/8” BSP male thread. Simply remove the spout and screw it on.
NOTE: The basket needs to be removed from the portafilter for testing. Some portafilters have notches on the ridge (i.e.: the old style Rancilio)—if yours does, as shown in the image below, then this gauge will be useless unless you modify a basket.
